The Salt City Market opened in Downtown Syracuse in January of 2021. It has a full service grocery store, a coffee shop, a bar and a choice of 10 cuisines from around the world. There are 26 brand new modern apartments above the market. This space will also be used for after-school programs, live music, and community events.
Kawneer curtain wall, storefront, and doors were installed by BR Johnson.
This exciting and unique project was made possible by the Allyn Family Foundation that donated $25M for this project. The foundation formed a not-for-profit operating entity, the Syracuse Urban Partnership (SYRUP) that helped bring this project to life. Grants and tax credits were also secured for this project.
